Our stance on key issues

Gain a much better understanding of where we stand on various issues affecting Mississippi Senate District 18. Our blog posts delve into the specifics, offering transparency and clarity on our proposed solutions and perspectives. We believe an informed voter is an empowered voter.

Economic Freedom

Mississippi families are stretching every dollar they can. Groceries are costing more. Gas costs more. Insurance costs more. Yet, the state government continues to find ways to take more of the hard-earned money of the citizens. If I am elected as your next State Senator, one promise I give you is I will not vote for or side with any bill that is designed to take away more money from you, the hardworking people. I will strive to find ways and push bills to help cut out wasteful spending, eliminate unnecessary regulations that are hurting small businesses, and ensure that proper agency audits are conducted to guarantee financial accountability.

Regulatory Reforms that Support Farmers, Tradespeople, and Small Businesses

We can see more growth when the government gets out of the way. I will strive to advocate for the reduction of unnecessary licensing requirements that block people from being able to enter the trades. I will strive to do my best in advocating for a more simplified agricultural regulation guidelines that will not continue to raise costs, while neglecting the safety of our farmers. Furthermore, I will strive to do my best in advocating for the protection of independent contractors and gig workers from restrictive laws. Opportunity should be open to everyone, and not just to those who are able to navigate a maze of unnecessary regulations.

Education and School Choice

Parents should control their children's education and not the bureaucrats in the state Capitol. I support expanding school choice, reducing top-down mandates, giving teachers more flexibility and less paperwork, and letting funding follow the student. When parents and teachers are both empowered, students will succeed.

Our teachers deserve to receive reasonable pay that is equal to or greater than the national average.

Current government issues

Stay up-to-date with current government issues that impact our district and the state of Mississippi. Our blog provides timely analysis and commentary, helping you navigate the complexities of policy and legislation. We aim to foster an informed electorate, from potential voters to dedicated supporters.

Tax and Spending Reform

Mississippians work hard, and the government should respect that by taking less of what a person earns. Small businesses need to be protected from ill-planned and ill-implemented tax structures that punish a business growth more than it does to encourage the business growth.

Protection of Constitutional Rights and Civil Liberties

Our rights do not come from politicians--they are protected by the United States Constitution. Alexander Hamilton stated, A government, the constitution of which renders it unfit to be trusted with all the powers which a free people ought to delegate to any government, would be an unsafe and improper depository of the national security.

If elected as your State Senator, I will strive to do my best to defend your constitutional rights, especially your freedom of speech, religious liberty, property rights, and protection of due process. Everyone's rights are to be protected, not just when it is convenient and not just when we agree.

Voices from the community

We listen to the issues expressed by people currently within the district. Our blog highlights community concerns and how we plan to address them, ensuring that the voices of Philadelphia, Mississippi, and beyond are heard and represented. Your concerns are our priority.
